Information entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the tool. That provider processes the query and supplies any resulting service. Wayne County Court Docket does not maintain a log of the names, case numbers, or other search terms entered through those tools.

It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about third parties.

For court-record access specifically, G.S. 7A-109 sets the public-inspection baseline for clerk records, while G.S. 7B-3000 restricts juvenile-record inspection. Those court-access rules do not turn this private site into a court-record custodian. A visitor may also:
- Request a copy of information retained about the visitor
- Ask for correction of inaccurate retained information
- Request deletion of retained personal information
- Object to certain processing where applicable
